John Murnane
Director Vice President, Global Operations Space Park Center Of Excellence Leader/El Segundo Site Manager Northrop Grumman Aerospace Systems John Murnane is vice president, Global Operations, and Space Park Center of Excellence (CoE) leader / El Segundo site manager at Northrop Grumman Aerospace Systems, a premier provider of military aircraft, autonomous and space systems and next-generation solutions to assist our customers worldwide, preserve freedom and advance human discovery. In this position, Murnane oversees Global Operations and is responsible for all support operations at the Space Park CoE in Redondo Beach, Calif. Murnane, who has more than 30 years leadership experience, also serves as manager of the El Segundo, Calif., site. As CoE leader, he works closely with functional homerooms, shared services and divisions to ensure that resident programs and integrated product teams (IPTs) have all the resources and support needed to succeed. Most recently, Murnane served as program manager and director of F/A-18 and F-5 programs, based in El Segundo, Calif. Previously, Murnane served as deputy program manager for F/A-18 and F-5/T-38 programs. In that role, he was responsible for directing and overseeing all aspects of the F/A-18 IPT, including cost, scheduling, technical issues, quality and customer satisfaction. Murnane managed and directed program resources to ensure that program performance requirements and objectives were achieved, as well as financial, strategic and other enterprise goals. Murnane also has served as director of F/A-18 Program Integration, System Engineering and Affordability. In this capacity, he managed and directed all aspects of program integration and system engineering, including customer satisfaction, both internal and external, all data processing, employee development and training, risk and opportunity management, issues management, program visibility, affordability and testing. Before returning to the F/A-18 program in 2004, Murnane served as director of Engineering, Logistics and Technology Planning and Operations for three years. In this role, he managed a large organization across two divisions at multiple sites. Since joining Northrop Grumman in 1983, Murnane has held many positions of increasing responsibility in Program Management, Engineering, Quality, SEIT, and Business Management, supporting major programs, such as the F/A-18 Super Hornet, F-35, YF-23 and F-20. John holds a bachelor’s degree from the University of Southern California, a master’s degree in business administration from the University of Redlands, and a certificate from the UCLA Anderson School of Management in executive management. Outside of the workplace, John’s passions include USC Alumni, spending time with his wife Sandra and two daughters. John also loves to travel and college sports, etc. Since losing both parents, he has been passionate about enriching the life of seniors and working with programs such as Jump! to secure a better life for those who need it the most. |
